Fells to distribute La Jota

John E Fells has been named as the UK agent for Jackson Family Wines’ Napa winery La Jota, with immediate effect.

Founded in 1888 on Howell Mountain, La Jota was named after its location on a former Mexican land grant known as Rancho La Jota, which had been handed over to pioneer George Yount in 1844 when Alta California was still under Mexican control.

Today the winery produces a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Merlot and a Cabernet Franc.

Steve Moody, managing director of John E Fells & Sons said: ‘’I am delighted with this addition to our portfolio and the fact that it represents a real vote of confidence in Fells.

“The addition of La Jota gives additional strength to our portfolio of premium family-owned wines and we are confident that we will replicate the success that we have already achieved across the other Jackson Family Wines that we represent.”

Lori Buchanan, Jackson Family Wines’ senior sales director for Europe & the Middle East, added: “I am delighted that our esteemed La Jota winery will be distributed through Fells.

“La Jota is an exceptional wine with a tremendous history and perfectly complements our existing fine wines portfolio with this leading importer.”
